Pennsylvania HB569 amends the Emergency and Law Enforcement Personnel Death Benefits Act to include coroners in the death benefits program. The bill ensures that the surviving spouse or children of firefighters, ambulance service or rescue squad members, law enforcement officers, coroners, or National Guard members who die in the line of duty receive compensation. If no spouse or minor children survive, a single sum of $100,000 is paid to the parents.
