The Household Appliance Freedom Act prohibits Commonwealth agencies and municipalities from adopting policies that restrict the sale, installation, or use of natural gas-powered home heating equipment, natural gas-powered home appliances, outdoor food preparation appliances, and other outdoor appliances or heating equipment powered by a specific energy source. The act allows individuals who believe they have been subjected to such a restriction to bring a civil action for injunctive relief or damages within 180 days of the alleged violation. The act will take effect 60 days after enactment.
