Introduced Text

Pennsylvania HB298 seeks federal waivers for medical assistance to modify eligibility rules.

HB298 amends the Human Services Code to allow the Department of Human Services to request federal waivers for medical assistance. If approved, the waivers would enable the department to deny eligibility for up to six months for nondisabled, nonpregnant adults aged 19-64 who fail to report changes affecting their eligibility. It would also allow for eligibility redeterminations every six months instead of annually and suspend the requirement to renew eligibility using a prepopulated form.
