HB2558

Prohibiting enforcement of covenants not to compete in broadcast employment agreements.

Chamber Passed·7/1/26
Introduced Text

Pennsylvania HB2558 prohibits enforcement of non-compete clauses in broadcast employment agreements.

HB2558, known as the Broadcast Freemarket Agreement Act, prohibits the enforcement of covenants not to compete in broadcast employment agreements. These non-compete clauses are deemed contrary to public policy and are void and unenforceable if they restrict the movement of a broadcast employee to another employer or their ability to perform services within a geographic area. The act applies to contracts entered into or renewed after its effective date, which is 60 days after the act's enactment.
