Pennsylvania HB2533 allows municipalities to impose a temporary moratorium on new applications for high impact data centers.

Pennsylvania HB2533 amends the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code to allow municipalities to impose a temporary moratorium on new applications for high impact data centers. The moratorium can last up to 18 months and applies to zoning map or text amendments, conditional uses, special exceptions, variances, land development plans, subdivision applications, and building permits. The moratorium does not apply to previously granted approvals or permits.
