Pennsylvania HB2492 amends the Human Services Code to enhance oversight of child care centers. It empowers the department to require child care centers to hold insurance or financial reserves to ensure operational continuity. Additionally, it mandates that child care centers provide written notification to the department, employees, and parents at least 30 days before closing. Failure to comply can result in liability for child care expenses or lost wages. This notification requirement does not apply if the closure is due to a disaster emergency declared by the Governor.
