Pennsylvania HB2450 amends the Radiation Protection Act to redefine "independent spent fuel storage installation" as a complex designed and constructed for the interim storage of spent nuclear fuel. The bill also revises fees for nuclear facilities and transport. Shippers of spent nuclear fuel, high-level waste, transuranic waste, or large quantities of radioactive material must pay an annual fee of $100,000 per year. Nuclear power reactor sites with permanently shut down reactors and removed spent nuclear fuel must pay an annual fee of $825,000 per site.
