Pennsylvania HB2444 amends death benefit eligibility for firefighters exposed to carcinogens.

Pennsylvania HB2444 amends the Personnel Death Benefits Act to presume that a firefighter who served four or more years, was exposed to a carcinogen, and passed a clean physical before firefighting duties died from their job. This change affects surviving spouses, children, and parents of firefighters, ambulance service or rescue squad members, law enforcement officers, or National Guard members who die in the line of duty. The act takes effect 60 days after enactment.
