HB2427 amends the Fair Access to Cancer Treatment Law to allow insurers to cover stage four, advanced metastatic cancer drugs without requiring the patient to first fail to respond to a different drug. The bill repeals the Fair Access to Cancer Treatment Law but maintains its provisions through a new section in the Insurance Company Law of 1921. Contracts, obligations, and collective bargaining agreements remain unaffected by the repeal. The changes take effect immediately.
