Pennsylvania HB2354 provides a one-time fee waiver for eligible teacher applicants who retake a required assessment.

Pennsylvania HB2354 amends the Public School Code of 1949 to establish a policy for a one-time fee waiver for eligible teacher applicants who need to retake an assessment. The Department of Education must publish this policy on its website and distribute it to relevant programs and institutions. An eligible applicant is defined as someone who failed an assessment by three or fewer scaled score points, has taken the assessment no more than once before, and registers to retake the same assessment within one year of the initial score release. This act takes effect in 60 days.
