Pennsylvania HB2301 amends the PA EDGE tax credits to include tax credits for critical minerals extraction from produced water.

HB2301 amends the Pennsylvania Economic Development for a Growing Economy (PA EDGE) tax credits to provide tax credits for companies extracting critical minerals from produced water. Companies must invest at least $1,000,000 in a project facility in Pennsylvania and use produced water generated in the state to extract critical minerals. The tax credit is equal to $20 for each kilogram of qualifying critical minerals extracted. The bill defines "critical mineral" and "produced water," and sets eligibility criteria for companies to qualify for the tax credit.
