Pennsylvania HB2282 provides for bankruptcy exemptions in judgments and other liens.

Pennsylvania HB2282 amends Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to provide for bankruptcy exemptions in judgments and other liens. It allows individuals or married couples filing jointly to choose between federal exemptions or state-specific exemptions. The state exemptions include up to $650,000 in equity in real or personal property, domestic support obligations, educational debts, utility bills, and various benefits and assets. The dollar amounts are adjusted every three years based on the Consumer Price Index.
