HB2264

In restructuring of electric utility industry, providing for virtual power plant program.

Chamber Passed·6/16/26

Pennsylvania HB2264 establishes a virtual power plant program for electric distribution companies.

Pennsylvania HB2264 amends Title 66 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to create a virtual power plant program. This program allows electric distribution companies to harness distributed energy resources to provide grid services and reduce system peak load demand. The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) must approve each program proposal, which must include enrollment targets, operational parameters, and compensation mechanisms. The PUC can modify programs after notice and a public hearing.
