Pennsylvania HB2218 mandates comprehensive school counseling services in public and private schools.

HB2218 requires each school entity to develop and implement a written comprehensive school counseling plan. The plan must include a foundation, management, and accountability component, and be aligned from kindergarten through grade 12. School counselors must spend at least 80% of their time on direct and indirect services, including academic advisement, career planning, and social and emotional support. The plan must be posted on the school entity's website and monitored by the Department of Education. The act takes effect immediately.
