Introduced Text

Pennsylvania HB219 exempts transfers of real estate to military members changing duty stations from the realty transfer tax.

HB219 amends the Tax Reform Code of 1971 to exclude transfers of real estate to members of the armed forces who are changing duty stations from the realty transfer tax. To qualify for this exemption, the member must reside in Pennsylvania and be domiciled in a single-family residence transferred under this clause. The member must also provide a copy of their final orders showing they will be stationed in Pennsylvania or a contiguous state. This change aims to support military personnel by reducing financial burdens associated with relocating.
