Pennsylvania HB2181 amends the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act to redefine "opioid antagonist" to include drugs or devices approved by the FDA for emergency reversal of known or suspected opioid overdoses, such as naloxone hydrochloride and nalmefene. This bill also confers powers on the courts and the Department of Health and establishes a new Pennsylvania Drug, Device and Cosmetic Board. The act will take effect 60 days after enactment.
