Pennsylvania HB2068 amends the Prothonotary Fee Law to increase the automation fee charged by prothonotaries in certain counties from a maximum of $5 to $10. This fee applies to the initiation of any action or legal proceeding. The collected fees will be deposited into a special prothonotary automation fund in each county, intended solely for automation and continued updates of the prothonotary's office. The fee may increase once every three years, limited to the percentage change in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers. The act will take effect 60 days after enactment.
