Pennsylvania HB203 amends the Public School Code of 1949 to specify days when public schools must be closed. Schools cannot be open on Saturdays for regular classes unless Monday is a holiday. Schools also must be closed on Sundays, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. The board of school directors can add up to five local holidays and decide on special exercises for other holidays. They can cancel holidays due to weather emergencies or natural disasters.
