Pennsylvania HB1999 creates a Smokey Bear license plate for vehicles, with fees supporting wildfire mitigation.

Pennsylvania HB1999 amends vehicle registration laws to include a special Smokey Bear license plate. Vehicle owners can apply for this plate by paying an additional $43 fee. The plate can only be used on passenger cars or trucks weighing up to 14,000 pounds. A portion of the fee, $14, goes to the Wild Resource Conservation Fund for wildfire mitigation efforts. The design of the plate must feature Smokey Bear and the phrase "Only you can prevent wildfires." The Department of Transportation must obtain federal authorization from the U.S.
