Pennsylvania HB1951 mandates transparency and oversight in the sale of real estate formerly used as State correctional institutions.

Pennsylvania HB1951, known as the State Correctional Institution Land Sale Transparency Act, requires the Department of Corrections to notify the Legislative Reference Bureau of any sale of real estate previously used as a State correctional institution. The notice must include a description of the property and instructions for submitting bids to the Attorney General. Bids are accepted for 30 days, and the Attorney General reviews and approves the highest responsible bidder within seven days.
