Pennsylvania HB1851 amends the Vital Statistics Law to specify who must provide medical certification for death and fetal death certificates. The bill clarifies that the certification must come from a physician, certified registered nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or dentist who attended the deceased during their last illness if the death occurred in a hospital. For fetal deaths, the certification must come from the attending physician, certified registered nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or certified nurse midwife.
