Pennsylvania HB1727 expands the care of memorials to include those honoring first responders.

Pennsylvania HB1727 amends the Second Class Township Code to allow boards of supervisors to maintain, repair, establish, or contribute to the maintenance, repair, or establishment of any memorial within the township. This includes monuments or memorials honoring first responders such as firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, emergency vehicle drivers, and township police officers. The bill also allows these boards to receive funds from persons or organizations for these purposes. The act will take effect in 60 days.
