Pennsylvania HB167 amends Title 20 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to modify the rules for payments to family members and funeral directors in the absence of probate. The bill allows banks, savings associations, credit unions, and other financial institutions to release funds up to $20,000 to the spouse, children, parents, or siblings of the deceased account holder, provided a receipted funeral bill or a funeral director's affidavit is presented.
