Pennsylvania HB1605 amends the state's retirement statutes to limit creditable nonschool and nonstate service to ten years of military service.

Pennsylvania HB1605 amends Titles 24 (Education) and 71 (State Government) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes. It limits creditable nonschool service to ten years of military service, excluding intervening, activated military, or USERRA leave service. Additionally, it restricts a member with multiple service from purchasing more than a total of ten years of military service across both the Public School Employees' Retirement System and the State Employees' Retirement System. This act will take effect in 60 days.
