Pennsylvania HB159 amends laws to strengthen penalties for importing, selling, or releasing nonnative injurious fish and game or wildlife.

Pennsylvania HB159 amends Titles 30 and 34 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to enhance penalties for violations involving nonnative injurious fish and game or wildlife. Specifically, it increases the penalty for negligent or intentional violations of restrictions on the transport, sale, importation, or release of nonnative injurious fish to a misdemeanor of the first degree. For game or wildlife, it raises the penalty for negligent or intentional violations involving endangered or threatened species to a misdemeanor of the first degree.
