Pennsylvania HB1517 establishes vendor-designed registration plates for motorcycles and passenger vehicles with a weight limit of 14,000 pounds.

Pennsylvania HB1517 amends Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to introduce vendor-designed registration plates for motorcycles and passenger vehicles with a registered gross weight of up to 14,000 pounds. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation must contract with a private vendor to market and sell these plates within 12 months of the act's effective date. The vendor must offer at least 12 designs, with additional designs allowed after one year. The department retains ownership of the designs and can disapprove or cancel designs if necessary.
