Pennsylvania HB1516 mandates a minimum 10% discount on private passenger automobile insurance for drivers who complete a motor vehicle driver.

Pennsylvania HB1516 amends Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to require insurance companies to provide a minimum 10% discount on private passenger automobile insurance for each vehicle on a policy where all named insureds have successfully completed a motor vehicle driver improvement course. This discount applies to all coverages for all policy periods beginning within the three-year period immediately following the successful completion of the course. The discount must be approved by the commissioner as part of the insurer's rate filing.
