Introduced Text

Pennsylvania HB1515 prohibits insurers from discriminating against homeowners based on dog breed.

Pennsylvania HB1515 amends the Dog Law to prohibit insurers from refusing to issue, renewing, canceling, or increasing premiums on homeowner's insurance policies based solely on the insured's ownership of a specific dog breed or mixture of breeds. This protection does not apply if the dog is classified as dangerous. The changes apply to homeowner's insurance policies issued, renewed, or modified after the act's effective date.
