Pennsylvania HB140 amends the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law by adding a definition for "algorithmic rent-setting software." This software is defined as a system, software, or process that uses computations to calculate data and recommend rental prices, lease terms, or occupancy levels for residential properties. The bill excludes certain reports and products from this definition, such as those that publish rental data without recommending prices or those used for establishing rent limits in affordable housing programs. This act will take effect 60 days after enactment.
