Pennsylvania HB1345 would amend the Human Services Code to include coverage for hormonal and non-hormonal treatments for menopausal symptoms for eligible medical assistance recipients. This includes coverage for drugs, devices, behavioral therapy, and therapy for menopause induced by a hysterectomy. The bill requires the Department of Human Services to seek a State plan amendment or Federal waiver from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services if needed. The act would take effect 30 days after publication of the notice if the amendment or waiver is approved.
