Pennsylvania HB1295 amends Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to allow school buses to be equipped with up to two extensions to side stop signal arms. These extensions, which partially obstruct the roadway, must be equipped with flashing red lights. The front side of the extension must extend no more than 78 inches from the left side of the vehicle, and the rear side must extend no more than 32 inches. The extensions must also be at least 36 inches from the ground. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will create regulations to implement these provisions.
