Pennsylvania HB1195 amends procedures for filling vacancies in elective borough offices.

Pennsylvania HB1195 amends Title 8 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to modify the process for filling vacancies in elective borough offices. If a vacancy exists in the chair of a borough council, the remaining members of the vacancy board can petition the court of common pleas to appoint a registered elector to fill the vacancy until the next municipal election. If the council fails to fill a vacancy within 30 days, the vacancy board must fill it within 15 additional days.
