Pennsylvania HB1188 aims to protect state-owned electronic devices and networks from applications controlled by foreign adversaries. The bill prohibits the downloading or installation of unauthorized foreign adversary controlled artificial intelligence or platforms on state-owned electronic devices. It also bans accessing or attempting to access such applications through state-owned wireless networks. Exceptions are made for law enforcement activities, security interests, security research, and risk mitigation actions.
