HB1169 amends the Pennsylvania Election Code to mandate that each member of the General Assembly hold a public meeting in their legislative district for public comment on proposed constitutional amendments or other statewide ballot questions. For constitutional amendments, the meeting must occur within eight months after the required notice is published following the first passage by the General Assembly. For other ballot questions, the meeting must take place after the preparation of the plain English statement but before the ballot question is submitted to voters.
