Pennsylvania HB1142 amends vehicle safety inspection requirements to include testing for tinted windows.

Pennsylvania HB1142 amends Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to require motor vehicles with tinted windows to be tested with a window tint meter during safety inspections. Vehicles failing to comply with the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law will fail inspection. Additionally, failing to inform a purchaser that window tinting will cause a vehicle to violate state regulations constitutes unfair trade practices.
