The bill establishes the Commission on Children's Vision, which will work with vision care professionals to develop a statewide plan for providing follow-up vision examinations and glasses to children in need. The commission will also develop a model for statewide programs to offer vision screenings, eye examinations, and glasses at little to no cost to students and families. It will support and coordinate statewide and local activities, review and make recommendations related to children's vision care, and consult with experts.
