Pennsylvania HB1048 amends Title 53 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to add a chapter on water and sewer projects. It allows municipalities to use public money and employees for the replacement or remediation of private sewer and water laterals if it benefits public health, the public water supply system, or the public sewer system. The municipality must consider available resources before proceeding. The bill also permits municipalities to construct and maintain water or sanitary sewer pump stations, public water distribution systems, and public sewer collection systems.
