Pennsylvania HB1042 amends Titles 61 and 63 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to introduce earned vocational training and education credits for inmates. These credits can be earned for completing vocational education programs, required programming, obtaining a high school diploma, or completing higher education courses. The credits can reduce the minimum sentence by up to one-fourth, with a cap of 180 days. Certain serious crimes, such as murder and trafficking, are excluded from earning these credits.
