Pennsylvania HB1019 mandates the use of U.S.-produced steel for natural gas gathering lines.
Pennsylvania HB1019 amends the Underground Utility Line Protection Law to require that any construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, improvement, or maintenance of gathering lines using steel products must use steel produced in the United States. This applies to work performed after the bill's effective date. A "gathering line" is defined as a pipeline transporting natural gas from a production facility to a transmission line. The bill takes effect 60 days after enactment.
