Oregon HB4106 protects peace officers from liability when using restraints or force during involuntary treatment transport.

Oregon HB4106 provides peace officers with immunity from criminal and civil liability when using restraints or physical force during the transportation of individuals subject to involuntary treatment. This protection applies if the officer reasonably believes the use of restraints or force is necessary to protect the person, the officer, or the public, and if the officer acts in good faith and without malice. The act takes effect 91 days after the end of the 2026 legislative session.
