Oregon HB4017 amends the state's campaign finance laws to allow contributions to be used for specified security-related expenses for public officials and candidates. These expenses include security and alarm systems and monitoring services for the candidate, the candidate's family, or the holder of public office. The bill also permits the conversion of these security-related expenses to personal use by the candidate or holder of public office after they are no longer in office. The Act declares an emergency, effective on passage.
