Oklahoma SJR9 proposes a constitutional amendment to modify the appointment procedure for Supreme Court justices and judges of the Court of Criminal Appeals and Court of Civil Appeals. The Governor will nominate new appellate justices and judges, subject to confirmation by the Senate. The amendment also repeals the Judicial Nominating Commission, which previously submitted nominees to the Governor. Justices and judges appointed or retained after November 5, 2025, will serve during good behavior.
