Oklahoma SJR34 proposes a constitutional amendment to add a new Section 38 to Article II of the Oklahoma Constitution. This amendment would prohibit abortion except to save the life of the mother or in cases of ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. It defines abortion as the intentional termination of an unborn person's life. The amendment imposes a duty on health care providers to make every reasonable effort to perform a live birth and preserve the lives of both the unborn person and the pregnant woman.
