Oklahoma SJR1 proposes a constitutional amendment allowing legislators to work as public school teachers post-term.

Oklahoma SJR1 proposes an amendment to Section 23 of Article V of the Oklahoma Constitution. It would allow a member of the Legislature to be employed as a certified teacher by a public school district after completing their term in office. The amendment specifies that this exception does not apply to other offices or commissions created or having increased emoluments during the legislator's term. The proposal will be put to a vote by the people of Oklahoma.
