Oklahoma SB976 allows certain counties to employ a county manager to improve government efficiency.

Oklahoma SB976 allows counties with a population over 500,000 to employ a county manager. The manager will work with the board of county commissioners and other county officers to improve efficiency. The county manager will serve as an ex officio member of the county budget board, which consists of elected county officers. The act also makes language gender neutral and sets an effective date of November 1, 2025.
