Failed·5/30/25

Oklahoma SB970 requires noncustodial parents to notify custodial parents if they cannot comply with court-ordered visitation due to in-patient.

Oklahoma SB970 codifies a requirement for noncustodial parents to inform custodial parents if they cannot comply with court-ordered visitation or other court-ordered requirements because they are receiving in-patient treatment at a facility within the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services or a certified facility. The noncustodial parent must provide this notice unless they are unable to do so, in which case their representative must provide it. The bill does not require the noncustodial parent to disclose certain information. The act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
