Oklahoma SB850 requires the State Board of Education to adopt a social studies curriculum that includes specific quotes from founding fathers emphasizing the Christian heritage of the United States. The curriculum must also incorporate primary sources from the founding era and throughout U.S. history. The State Textbook Committee must ensure that textbooks reflect the racial, ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity of the United States. The act declares an emergency and becomes effective July 1, 2025.
