SB833

Crimes and punishments; taking of crude oil or gasoline; making certain acts unlawful; effective date.

Chamber Passed·3/27/25

Oklahoma SB833 amends personal injury suits by setting criteria for admissible medical bill amounts in trials.

Oklahoma SB833 modifies the criteria for admissible amounts in personal injury trials. It specifies that actual payments made for medical services should be admissible, not the billed amounts. If no payments have been made, Medicare reimbursement rates at the time of the injury or trial can be used. The bill also allows for the admission of bills exceeding Medicare rates but not exceeding the amount of any filed lien. This change applies to civil actions filed after November 1, 2015.
