Oklahoma SB8 provides a 5% increase in retirement benefits for members of the Oklahoma Firefighters Pension and Retirement System who are receiving benefits as of June 30, 2025. The increase takes effect July 1, 2026. Members who joined before January 1, 1981, will see half of the increase or decrease in their pension or their surviving spouse's pension. The bill codifies this new benefit in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 49-143.8 of Title 11.
