Oklahoma SB58 establishes the First Responder Recruitment and Retention Act, providing tuition waivers for eligible students who are peace officers, firefighters, or emergency medical technicians. To qualify, students must meet admission standards, enroll in an Oklahoma educational institution, and submit an application to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. The tuition waiver applies after other state or federal assistance is exhausted. The act takes effect immediately upon passage and approval.
